Flamenca Beach Centro Comercial
Owners and tenants

You should know where your money goes, and we should hear what you think.

For a long time the people trading here felt they had no voice, and no clear picture of what their money was being spent on. The new president and committee are setting out to change both of those things.

That is not a slogan, and we are not going to pretend the last few years were fine. Owners paid, work did not always follow, and nobody was told much either way. It is the single most common thing we hear, and it is fair.

What is changing is straightforward. Work is being recorded as it happens, in a place every owner and tenant can see, so you find out while it is going on rather than long afterwards.

Costs are not posted up there, and we are not going to dress that up as something it is not. What has changed is that you can ask. Put the question to the president, about any piece of work or any figure, and you will get an explanation. That is the part that used to be missing.

And when you have something to say, there is now somewhere to say it and somebody whose job it is to answer.

This page is where all of that lives. If you are a customer looking for a business, you want the directory instead.

Where the money goes

Ask the president what a piece of work cost and you will be told. The figures are not posted publicly, but the question is always answered, which is not how it used to be.

Your listing on this site

Every business here is listed free, with its unit number, trade, opening hours, telephone, website and social links. There is no charge and there never will be. If yours is missing or wrong, the form below reaches us directly.

Say what you think

The committee would rather hear it from you than hear it second hand, and would rather hear it now than at the next junta. Use the group, use the form below, or stop one of us on the centre. We are on site.

Tell us about your listing

Pick your business from the list, or tell us it is not there yet. We would rather hear from you than guess, and corrections from owners go to the front of the queue.

We use this to update your listing and to confirm it with you. Nothing else, and we will not add you to any list. Submissions are processed by Netlify, who host this site. See the privacy policy.

Tell us your story, and we will write you up

We are writing up the businesses here for the centre's social media and this website. No charge, and no catch. You answer what you can, we do the writing, and we send it to you to approve before anything goes out. Nothing is published about your business without you seeing it first.

Answer as many or as few as you like. Three good answers are more useful than eighteen one word ones, and a rambling answer is better than a tidy one because we can edit. Hours, telephone, socials and your logo are handled by the form above, so we have not asked twice.

We use your answers to write about your business, and your email to send you the draft first. Nothing else. Submissions are processed by Netlify, who host this site. See the privacy policy.

Photographs, and why the quality matters

A good photograph will do more for you than anything we write. A bad one will quietly undo it. We would rather run a trade icon than a blurry picture of your shopfront, so please read this bit properly before you send anything.

The one that catches everybody

Do not send photos through WhatsApp WhatsApp compresses images to roughly a tenth of their size and the damage cannot be undone. A photograph that looked fine on your phone will look soft and blotchy blown up on a website. Send the original from your camera roll, by email or through an upload link, not through a chat app.

What we need

  • At least 2000 pixels on the longest edge. Any phone from the last eight years does this by default. If a file is under about 1MB, it has been compressed somewhere along the way.
  • The original file, straight from the camera roll. Not a screenshot, not a photo of a screen, and not something saved off your own Facebook page, which is compressed too.
  • Landscape and portrait of the same thing where you can. The website wants wide, Instagram wants tall, and we cannot invent the missing edges.
  • Daylight, or your normal evening lighting. Direct flash flattens food and makes skin look grey. Near a window in the morning beats anything else.
  • Tidy the frame first. Clear the table, straighten the chairs, move the blue roll and the till receipts. It takes a minute and it is the difference.

What to actually photograph

  • The front of your unit, so people recognise it when they walk past.
  • The inside, wide enough to show the space rather than one corner of it.
  • Three or four close ups of what you sell: the dish, the product, the treatment.
  • You, and your team. People connect with faces far more than with interiors, and this is the shot most businesses forget.
Sending them Email them to flamencabeachcc@gmail.com with your business name in the subject. Three points that save everybody a second go: choose Actual size or Original if your phone or your mail app offers it, send three or four per email rather than twenty at once because most mailboxes reject anything over about 25MB, and if one bounces back just tell us and we will send you an upload link instead.

Sending a logo

The form does not take attachments. Email your logo to flamencabeachcc@gmail.com with your business name in the subject. A PNG or SVG on a transparent background is ideal, and 1000 pixels square or larger. A photograph of your sign will not work, and we would rather show a clean trade icon than a blurry logo.

What we can and cannot change

  • We can change your name, trade, description, opening hours, telephone, website, social links, unit number, floor and logo.
  • We cannot invent your opening hours. Where a business has not confirmed them the site says so rather than guessing. If yours reads "not confirmed", that is why, and one message fixes it.
  • We cannot publish offers or prices that we have not been given by you.

What we never publish

Owner and proprietor names are not on this website and will not be. We publish the business, its trade and the contact details a customer needs to reach it. Who owns the unit is nobody's business but yours.

Interested in a unit?

If you are not here yet and want to be, email flamencabeachcc@gmail.com with the sort of business you have in mind and roughly how much space you need, and we will tell you what is available and where it sits in the centre.

Why the group matters It only works as a record if the people it is meant to inform are actually in it. Every owner and tenant who joins is one more person who knows what is being fixed and what comes next, and one less person finding out afterwards. Join on Telegram.
